Cloud integrations testable without an account: overrides and LocalStack

Every AWS client accepts an endpoint override through the isolated class loader, so suites run against LocalStack in containers. Microsoft, Google and IBM clients take overrides too, with 108 tests on loopback stubs.

An integration library that can only be tested against a paid account is tested rarely. This release lets every cloud client point at a local stand-in, and ships the suites that use it.

AWS

  • Overrides threaded through Endpoint-override constructors for SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, Secrets Manager, EC2, IAM, CloudWatch, SES, SMS, Athena and CloudFront, through the isolated class loader, with the existing constructors kept.
  • LocalStack suites Twenty-one tests in the first batch including a fan-out from SNS to SQS; a full EC2 instance lifecycle without a billable instance; the IAM suite from three tests to eight; Lambda executed on LocalStack through the container socket.
  • Limits stated The community edition lacks the second-generation mail API, and two services are available only in the paid edition, so stubs stand in.

Microsoft, Google, IBM

  • System-property overrides for Graph, Gmail, Calendar and IBM IAM, off by default, and eleven credential-free test classes with 108 tests against loopback stubs.

Thirteen AWS services and four other clouds now have tests that run on a laptop with the network cable out.
